		Weekend Home A New York City couple who had never owned a house, but had previously rented a country home, finally decided to build an idyllic weekend retreat. After an exhaustive search of the available properties, none met their needs so they retained Karp Associates to locate the perfect setting and manage the project from plans to completion. This elegant shingled house has classic lines that soften and disguise the 6,000 square foot spacious modern interior. The house is an extension of the personality of the couple who wanted to frequently entertain guests and properly display their artwork and other important pieces from their travels. The house has 5 bedrooms with walk-in closets and luxurious baths. There are his and hers offices: "his" a small cozy nook off the kitchen; "hers" a writers study with a limestone fireplace and built-in library. The dream kitchen is designed for weekend entertaining and can accommodate intimate dining for a small group or a grand catered affair. Along the rear of the house is a full length veranda and screened-in porch overlooking the inviting pool and spa with a granite terrace.
