A Cape Cod of more than 3,000 square feet is now 5,500 square feet, said Arnold Karp, but the streetscape view has remained much the same. "We gutted and renovated the house and added a master bedroom, with hers-and-his baths and his-and-hers closets," Karp said. "We also pushed out the living room and put in bay windows and French doors, and the back of the house became all glass. Attic space was made into an exercise room, an upstairs den, another bedroom and a storage area." "There are custom moldings and built-ins, the kitchen was redone, and through glass doors there's a new breakfast area with a gas stone fireplace," Karp added. "All the systems were updated, and there are new windows throughout. We took a house and restored it to the grandeur of a 1930s structure."
